Weekly Chemical Checks
Chemicals in a Pool should be checked on a weekly basis. If maintaining chemicals is not your thing, I highly recommend taking your water to your local Pool Store you trust. They will test your water with their machines and than offer you suggestions for chemical maintenance.
Brush & Net Pool
It is important to brush every nook and cranny in your pool weekly! Keeping dirt and debris from your interior surface extends the longevity of your pools aesthetics.
Empty Baskets
There is a skimmer basket and a pump basket – these should be dumped or checked weekly. Some will have deck debris baskets/bags that need dumped weekly.
Check Filter Pressure
The Pressure on the filter is a key competent on the filtration and cleanliness of your pool. Make sure you know where the clean pressure sits and than clean after it increases 10psi – never let your pressure exceed 15psi over the clean benchmark.
Backwash Filters/Clean Filters
Sand Filters typically need backwashed weekly or biweekly. Depending on the time of year.
DE Filters typically need backwashed monthly. Depending on the time of year.
Cartridge Filters should be cleaned quarterly or at least twice a year.
Clean/Check Salt System
Check salt levels and clean your salt system monthly.
Lube Orings
You have Pump Lid Orings and backwash orings that should be lubed monthly or bimonthly. Jandy Valve and Filter Lid orings only get replaced. Never necessary to lube.
Check for Leaks
Always be aware of your water level – Is the water at the middle of your tile and skimmer. This is where it should always be at for proper flow to your equipment. If you hear your leveler running consistently. Check and see if you may have a leak on the equipment, on the leveler or call a professional.
When to call a professional
When an issue starts. If there is an issue that you are having, CALL don’t wait… Pools are a heavy investment and need to be maintained, when you let things linger it just ends up costing more money down the line. Treat your pool and it’s equipment like your AC units on your home or your car.
